Impossible

The word this week is :

Impossible

Defination

incapable of being or happening, unable to be performed or bring about;

difficult beyond reason

Verse

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20

The Importance of Impossible :

The word “impossible” may appear strange to study, but it’s what Jesus says before impossible that makes all the difference.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘
Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20

These are Jesus’ own words. He was talking to his disciples. The same people that saw him, touched him, and experienced His miracles.

He was telling them that if they had just a tiny bit of faith, the size of a mustard seed, they could do the same things that He was doing. Nothing would be impossible for them.

This is still true today. If we have faith in God, nothing is impossible for us. (read more about Mustard Seed Faith here!)

We all have faced what seems to be impossible situations; such as financial difficulties, relationship problems, or health scares. But we serve a God who is bigger than any of those things.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.  Romans 8:28 (AMP)

So what do we do when faced with an impossible situation?

Mind

Here are a few questions to ask yourself when faced with an impossible situation:

What is the situation?

Is this something that I can change or control?

How can I trust God in this situation?

What are some ways that God has been faithful in the past?

How can I praise God even in this situation?

Who can I talk to that would provide Godly wisdom?

Body

Impossible situations effect us physically – lack of sleep, emotional eating, not taking care of ourselves. Here are some things to help keep our physical self in check.

The three main topics that are often listed as beneficial are : to get enough sleep, eat healthy, and get exercise.

Your body needs rest, fuel, and movement. What simple things can you do to decrease your stress levels?

Spirit

It is important to keep our spiritual life in tact as well. When we are feeling hopeless, it can be difficult to connect with God. But God is always there for us, even if we don’t feel His presence. Here are a few ways to help ease the spiritual and emotional stress of an impossible situation

Prayer

Bible Study

Fasting

Attending Church

Word of the Week Take Away :

The stuff you’re up against is nothing God can’t handle.

When we have faith in Him, no situation is impossible for us to overcome. We need to keep our mind, body, and soul healthy in order to maintain our faith during difficult times.

Pray and ask God to give you faith and direction.

Obey God and do what he tells you to do, no matter how impossible it seems. 1 Kings 17 is a wonderful example of faith in an impossible situation. (Article coming soon!)

Stand firm on His promises and don’t give up hope.

Nothing is impossible with God. When we face difficulties in our lives, we can trust that God is bigger than any of those problems. He can work everything out for our good. (Romans 8:28) So when you’re feeling overwhelmed, take some time to pray, read the Bible, and journal. These things will help ease the stress and remind you of God’s faithfulness.

Remember, with God nothing is impossible. He can work miracles in your life. Trust Him today with your impossible situation.
